knowledge – the condition of having information or being aware of something

zenith – the highest point; the opposite of nadir

education – the act of acquiring general knowledge and developing the powers of reasoning and judgment

scholar – (at SDES) a student who learns as much as s/he can at school and at home

responsible -  able to answer for one’s conduct or behavior; able to choose for oneself between right and wrong; accountable; trustworthy

respectful – showing politeness; civil; courteous

productive – having the quality or ability to create/produce good results

efficient – performing in the best possible and least wasteful manner

persist - to continue steadily in spite of difficulty

vigorous - strong; active; robust; with energy

lexicon - a dictionary

estimation - an approximate calculation or amount that is not exact; an educated guess

nutritious-  healthy; wholesome; nourishing or strengthening to help the body grow.

chortle - to chuckle gleefully; to laugh with great joy -

gratitude -thankfulness; appreciation

wellness - an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a more healthy existence

global - pertaining to the whole world; world-wide; universal

Joyeux Noel - French words (pronounced: zhoy yoo noh ell) for "Merry Christmas"

resolute - firmly resolve or determined; firm, fixed, steadfast; undaunted, unwavering

compromise - a settling of differences by mutual concessions, each side yielding some to reach an agreement that each side can accept

semester - either of two terms into which the period of instruction is divided in an academic year

dither - informal, a state of flustered excitement or fear

fret - to fuss; to fume; to feel anxious; to worry

random - occurring without order, pattern, or reason

vast - very great in size, limitless; expansive; widespread

CamelCase - the mixing of upper and lowercase letters, often accompanied by the jamming toget of words, e.g., iPhone, eBay

fester - to become worse due to infection or anger

vernal equinox - the beginning of spring; the moment the sun crosses directly over Earth's equator making day and night about equal in length

respite - a pause from doing something; break; rest; hiatus

integrity - honesty and virtue; soundness of moral character

inquisitive - curious; apt to ask questions; given to research

optimistic - having a positive outlook; upbeat; hopeful

pessimistic - the opposite of optimistic; gloomy; hopeless

cerebrate - to use the mind; to think, or think about; to reason

amicable - friendly; showing good will

glorious - exhibiting qualities that deserve or receive glory or praise; magnificent

confident - certain, assured beyond doubt; sure, sure of oneself

frenzy - wild excitement or enthusiasm

achieved - to do what one set out to do; brought to a successful end
